Ford was recognized in the C-Level Visionary category for third consecutive year

2015 FOLIO Awards

San Francisco, CA – Praetorian Digital, the leading digital media company in the public safety and local government market, today announced that CEO Alex Ford has been named a 2015 FOLIO: 100 honoree in C-Level Visionary category.

Each year FOLIO, the leading publication serving the magazine and online media industry, recognizes the most influential, innovative and impactful media professionals in the publishing industry with its Folio: 100 Awards. This was the third consecutive year Ford has been recognized in the ‘Visionaries’ category, which acknowledges leaders who are driving business in surprising new directions. He was hailed along with such media leaders as Time Inc.’s Joe Ripp, Penton’s David Keiselstein and Vox Media’s Jim Bankoff.

Ford also participated in FOLIO’s CEO Summit as part of a panel of experts discussing best practices in building digital business models, speaking alongside Tim HartmanCEO of National Journal Group, and Aaron ObermanCEO of Omeda.

“It is an honor to be recognized once again by FOLIO Magazine as a top C-level thought leader in the media industry,” said Ford. “At Praetorian Digital we are constantly innovating our business model and our approach to digital media to better execute on our mission to help first responders and government personnel better serve their communities. We’re continuing to develop new digital tools and industry leading resources that help solve real world problems for departments and municipalities worldwide.”

In 1999, Ford founded Praetorian Digital to provide cutting-edge resources to help first responders and military personnel stay safer, become better informed and better protect their communities. Under his direction, Praetorian has launched more than 25 websites, including PoliceOne.comFireRescue1.comEMS1.comCorrectionsOne.com and Military1.com, which together are visited by more than 5 million safety and security professionals every month and count more than 1.4 million registered members.

In addition, Praetorian’s Public Safety Grants Services division, which includes the websites PoliceGrantsHelp.comFireGrantsHelp.com and EMSGrantsHelp.com, is nearing $70 million in assisted grant funding for public safety departments. The funding is critical in helping police departments, fire departments and EMS agencies to get the equipment and training they need in an era of tight budgets. Praetorian recently announced the launch of a fourth grant assistance website, GovGrantsHelp.com, which went live earlier this month.

Furthermore, Praetorian’s online training division, comprised of the PoliceOne Academy, Fire EMS Academy – recently acquired from Kaplan, Inc. – and LocalGovU.com, continues to see rapid growth, delivering more than 100,000 online training courses each month to more than 1,000 departments and accredited in more than 33 states for law enforcement and nationwide for EMS.

The 2015 FOLIO: 100 Awards Ceremony was held on October 20, 2015 during the FOLIO Conference in New York. For more information and the full list of the FOLIO: 100 honorees, visit www.foliomag.com/events/folio-100-awards-networking-reception.
